zombies are one of the most populars monsters in fiction since most monsters are created to represent
a fear or aspect of our lives, they can be embodiment of the inevitability of death, the consequences of
breaking the limits hardcoded on almost all living creatures of this reality or they are just a fun target
to use as sponge for your bullets.
yeah today i didn't want to get too political and decided to start a small essay on probably one of my fav
(and most frustating) mods for gta sa.
if you lived on the 2000's and 2010's with access to the western, asian and south american side of the internet and fiction you've probably saw a massive wave & obsession with zombies and anything related to infected enemies.
something that me and althisthub have dubbed :
THE ZOMBIE ERA

from 2007 to 2015 an age in wich you found yourself as the protagonist or self insert allegory, kicking and/or surviving
an endless wave of zombie, infected and other undead shenanigangs
on this wave a lot of companies developers, writers and artists began to directly or indirectly relate their works with.
zombies due to the rising popularity of the wave.
all of them supporting and helping each other in increasing the strength and interest on the wave.
you know sutff like
THE WALKING DEAD (both the comic and tv show)
RESIDENT EVIL 6
World War Z (the book not the movie)
DAY Z (the game not the valentine movie)
"what about cros.."
WE DON'T TALK ABOUT THE C COMIC!!!

....
And on the scene of mods it was no different, after all there were a lot of games that thanks to
the fact that there were a lot of mod groups that were pretty familiar with most of the codes of the
game and the fact that the internet was beginning to become more massificied and accessible both through legal and illegal means.
Allowing for most games to be rapidly pirated and downloaded from the net.
since you could download the entirety of the code and models of the game unto your pc
all you needed were a 3d model program, coding program and a animation program to create your mod.
But one of their biggest problems is the fact that even then with the knowledge they had is just that there were still quite a lot of small things about the game engine and the code of the game himself weren't just know yet or simply limited by the technology of their time.
One of these games was gta sa, around 2009 and 2013 most of the mods and videos related to gta sa
were related to zombies, the free roaming & simplified realism allowed to create all sorts of mods each
one of them with their own complexities and traits.
After all it is considered at this time as a pretty complex but simple game that manages to balance both
realism and over the top action.
Before we got bombarbed by thousands of interactive groceries lists.
A lot of these mods would try to bring the zombie apocalypse to SA via different manners.
either by simply spawing a large horde of zombies and leaving most of the characteristics of SA
intact.
reworking their mods to work within the prestablished limits of SA.
trying to change the limits of SA.

but even then on this time there were a lot of limits both in terms of digital geography and technology :
*most computers were barely capable of running on a stable state
*On the 2000's not a lot of people owned a computer or even had access to the internet.
*And the cultural & technical entrance to the internet was a pain in the ass, unlike nowadays you just need to see for a tutorial, post a question on a facebook or reddit group or by simply pressing the
help and faq or your website.
not at this time you needed to have some knowledge on the internet and at the field of coding.
Most websites were pretty isolated but at the same time somewhat interconnected rather than nowadays nearly everyone being inside twitter, facebook or reddit or just another oversimplified website.
(creating the powerful illusion of a gentrified and unified internet.)
the only way of learning of the existence and its complex functions of another website and group on the internet was by asking your friend or local users on your website.
why is this important well since these webistes could hold some pretty useful tool or knowledge on how to change and alter the engine & codes of SA, but since you don't know the existence of this website and they themselves don't have any kind of idea of your existence, then that means that most of these mods will be pretty similar to some extent, due to their limited understanding and over-comfort to the appearance & behavior of these mods.

Zombie Andreas Complete Final or simply know as ZACF, is a mod from the russian side of the gta fandom.
this mods is mainly on survival and action, surviving on the state of san andreas two weeks after being
ravaged by a zombie virus.
On that timelapse the entire state is divided between four main factions :
The survivors : a coalition of different survivors scattered on differents bases across the states with the main objective of escaping from the state.
Farmers : a small group of farmers only located and spread across red, flint county & some parts of whetstone and into county, they don't have bases.
Bandits : a coalition of killers and thiefs who seeks on profit off the enslavement of the reaiming humans on the state, just like survivors having differents bases across SA.
Military : what remains of the military force searching to "contain" the virus and all the infected.
Knowing these factions will help you understand and deal with the following traits of this mod :
first how do you download it?

what is VK?
well think of it like a russian version of facebook altough just like facebook it has a lot of dangerous cookies & malware, so i reccomend entering it with a VPN.

scattered across their page they have the differents updates for the mod.
i am currently the build 72.
it has its own launcher and works pretty similar to most launchers, so all you have to do its to establish where you want to download the files.
i reccomend creating a personal file,
the launcher is pretty similar to most launchers so the only different thing is that you have to choose
your language, there's only english and russian.
so now we can play the game :
THE GAME
if your game is still on russian then that means you'll have to change it manually on the game menu of SA, now all you have to do is press start new game, this will launch you unto the mod menu, and this is where you'll probably find your first, the game might freezes unto a black screen and by getting outside the game by pressing alt+f4 or the windows button you'll get a pop up screen saying a missing id or something else, this is because the mod has "yandere simulator fever", no there's not a toothbrush with two thousand polygons, is just that there's a lot of things that just doens't load up fast enough or have too many details both for the game engine and your computer, yeah this is gonna become a common thing with this mod.
all you can do is pray that you don't find it.
Ok this post will cover the basics, and all the basics are inside the survival mode wich has its own endings, but that's for another post.
MAKING YOUR CHARACTER
Ok press the survival mode and choose your difficulty i reccomend starting with easy mode, believe you want to start with easy mode.
this will transfer you unto the character selection screen and first will give you differents skins for your
characters, stay with the first skin, most skins don't have a jump or run animation so you'll have a hard time with this.
Then you'll be presented with different backgrounds that'll give you a pack of different weapons and
i reccomend you to choose the CDC package that will give you :
a flamethrower, a machete, a beretta pistol, a xm1014 shotgun and a mp5k submachine
plus it lets you start with a completed perk line of healthpoint leveled up to lvl3
now choose if you want to start with a team, since this is your first time i reccomend you to start as a
lonewolf since having your own team is its own massive headache.
then you can choose your animations for your character, choose muscular this will give you a small but useful speed advantage.
and finally choose where do you want to randomly spawn :
los santos - san fierro - las venturas - flintcounty
start with los santos since is basically the most packed with resources and safe places.
SPAWNING ON THE GAME
After you choose where you start, you'll spawn on a random place of your choosing, altough you can't really choose where you'll specifically start you may end up in groove street close to ganton or los aztecas.
but don't worry, sometimes you have a pretty tiny stat of spawning inside a random car, get out of your
car and open your inventory with the button " i ", you'll have a large columns :
FOOD (X)
the current quantity of food you have inside your inventory.
you can eat it with the hotkey " Z "and inside your car with " C " but look out you have a minimal chance of
eating a spoiled meal causing your character to vomit and interrupt whatever you walking animation
for 3 seconds.
MEDKIT (X)
medkit is important it heals more than bandages bringing up almost o 100% hp.
you can use it with the hotkey " X " and inside your car with " H "
but lookout if you only want to heal yourself a little bit with a bandage or you are
inside a car you'll automatically use your medkit this is worse on your car
since if you press " H " you'll automatically use the medkit.
BANDAGE (X)
Bandages are useful at healing a little bit your character specially for a state
when your characters is attacked by any hostile or friendly npc (yep you read that right)
you character can get wounded wich mean you won't be able to run.
this is where the bandage comes in, you'll have to use manually inside your inventory
by open it and search for bandage and pressing space to use it.
FUEL (X)
Fuel is a neccesary component for your car, wich can only be found insides cars or
within traders, wich are hidden on almost safes places across san andreas,
you can use it to fuel your car,
you can only carry 25 but lookout if you find a canister inside a car trunk, this will actualy
fill your inventory but will not increase the quantity of fuel only the size.
wich brings me to my next point :
WEIGHT AND LOOT
you start with a inventory with a space of 50 you can increase by upgrading your perks, wich begins
to be fill up by your loot.
if you want to get more loot you'll have to search it on the back trunks of the surroundings cars.
you can't really control what and how much loot you get, you could get bandages, medkits or foods.
so most of the time you'll end up with a lot of useless items like locketpicks, don't worry you can just sell them for somewhere (25-50 $) on the traders.
this can be more terrible with fuel because even if you have 25 fuel wich is the limit, you can just keep filling more space in your inventory but the number of fuel will still be the same.
always go for food, believe me is going to become a nightmare on the late game.
EVENTS & SPAWNS
once you spawn you'll have somewhere across 3-7 min of safetime, it means there's not going
to be any kind of event or spawn, after that you may find a horrific or useful spawn like
a survivor or marauder corpse : they can spawn somewhere on a circular 400 m they hold different loots
the major difference is that marauders, wich often are clothed with military clothing, have more lot compared to the survivors.
stash : sometimes in your minimap will show up a green block or triangle showcasing the location of
the a box or stash in wich your all of your own loot will automatically increase a little bit, including the ammo of your weapon.
but on the other hand you may find a more horrible and hellish spawn like
survivors and thugs : survivors can actually spawn somewhere 200 m around you, but so the thugs basically a buffed up bandits, they are both capable of healing themselves at any second, shoot you and
have better accuracy than all the following enemies below, and beleive is worse they can actually
spawn driving any kind of vehicles likes golf carts, motorcycles and security vehicles like a police tank plus they can shoot you up from their cars like in gta IV.
well at least the survivors can ask you if you would like to team up.
bandits : the bandits usually appears on black vans on a 500 meters, on foot or on a couple of sanchez motorcycles, never attack them directly on battles always take the guerrilla stance, take them by surprise attack them from afar and always guide them or wait they fall on a trap.
the same applies to the army, they spawn on militaries jeeps or sanchez, the same battles principlies applies here, they both offer a pretty difficult time, bandits are usually packed with street levels shotguns, 9mm pistols and HP rifless they mostly throw up grenades and molotovs.
while the army are equipped with more a more horrible and powerful military equipments like snipers and grenade launchers, they are capable of throwing grenades, molotovs and smoke grenades wich can stunt you by making you cough towards or away from them oh and don't pick the grenade launcher is actually the worst weapon in the game it takes a large size of your inventory.
you think that's bad well remember if they shoot you they have a small probability of wounding you and they have the accuracy of a eagle, no matter on what difficulty you are.
but this is jut the iceberg, even tough i just wrote like thousands of words, i present to you the
vehicles spawns :
there's only two vehicles spawns :
one for air and another for the ground.
first the hunter, yes the hunter helicopter, they spawn a neutral npc wich means he attacks randomly
both zombies and other npcs, they have two attacks modes , its turret wich can take most of your life in seconds and now for its 2nd attack it uses is missiles launchers, the only thing you can do is to hide on a underground area or at least a place with a lot of tall and tight places, if not then run as far as possible.
now the second worse vehicle spawn is the tank it has a pretty low probability of spawning, it has a pretty similar attack modes to the hunter, the difference is that the tank will automatically point is gun
towards you, its turret is capable of draining your health faster than the hunter and the explosion of its
cannons are bigger and larger.
the only thing you can do is go a high place or a place in wich is out of its reach, don't ever dare to attack them, the EXP you receive from is pretty little.
BASES
the bases can offer you a pretty useful things, for example you can recruit npcs, ask for supplies and
save a little bit of your loot inside the green metal boxes, it doesn't matter in wich base you are it will have the same loot you've left, think of it like an ender chest.
